Bible Toys Can Help Kids Learn About the Scriptures

Children of today buy toys of super heroes like Spider-Man, Jedi, and Transformers. However, it is crucial that they get to know real heroes too, like Moses, Esther, and Paul. Fortunately there are now figurines of these cherished prophets and Biblical role models. Children can better visualize and reenact such stories as Daniel in the Lion’s Den and David and Goliath. The New Testament contains stories that have toy sets as well, like a children’s Nativity and when Jesus Feeds the Five Thousand. There are specific figurines as well, of people such as Samson, Peter and Mary. These toys are great to keep children occupied during a restless worship service. These Christian toys are a great learning tool for young children. They will help them distinguish one Bible hero from another, and help them remember which one goes with which story.

The Pros and Cons of Family Gaming and Online Gaming

Any leisure time we have is precious and we want to make sure to use it wisely. Children and adults alike have trouble deciding whether to use their time playing online games or playing games with one another. There are far more benefits from the family playing a game together than one gets just playing online games. First of all, online gaming allows only one person to play. With family games, everyone gets to join the fun. Games with the family allow for real interactions on a personal level. Online gaming relationships tend to be just as virtual as the game. Family games are light-hearted and wholesome but online gaming tends to be violent and regard other crude subject matter. Games played with the family usually involve learning and pushing the brain but online games rarely require such mental exertion. Family games are good for brief episodes of fun and then allow family members to bond in other ways. Online games tend to be addicting and take away time from more important things. Family games open opportunities of fun instances that the family will remember for years. Online games rarely have such moments. Online games lead to additional costs, like monthly fees and costly expansions, that family games do not subject gamers to. Although online games might seem easier to do during our leisure time, it is clearly not as beneficial for ourselves or our families as family games are.

Games for Christian Parties

Every now and then, members of a church will come together for a fun night of clean and enjoyable amusement. Games are always a great way to get everyone involved and make fun memories at such occasions. There are many games out there that have a Bible Edition that are fun to play in groups. Apples to Apples: Bible Edition is a game of word association that anyone can play. In this game, players match certain description cards with object cards for a judge to pick which match he or she likes best. The Bible Edition includes such words as “Virtuous”, “Helpful”, “Mary”, “Jawbone”, “Baptism” and so forth. For Charade lovers, there is also Guesstures: Bible Edition. This version comes with words to act out like “Mountain”, “Husband” and “Candle”. Each card comes with a Bible scripture at the bottom. One more great game that Christian party-goers will love is the Bible version of The Game of Scattergories. In this game, different topics are listed and players must write down objects that fit within that topic that start with a decided letter. The Bible version has topics such as “Things that are Counted”, “Fruits of the Spirit”, and “Plagues”. These games among others are certain to let players have a merry and elevating experience.

Christian Puzzles for a Great Family Bonding Experience

A wonderful activity to bring your family together is to do a puzzle. Opportunities to talk about religious values come up when Christian puzzles are put together. People tend to check repeatedly the big picture of the puzzle as they work on it. If the big picture is one of religious importance, thoughts are directed toward this topic and toward God. Conversations about the event or idea being presented by the Christian puzzle can easily be discussed during this time of reconstruction. When the work is done, the puzzle can be framed and put up in the home. When displayed, outsiders have a chance to ask about the puzzle and about religion. Those who helped assemble the puzzle will also be able to look at it frequently, recall the good times, and remember the values learned during its construction. Some of these puzzles include Little Blessings, VeggieTales, and many others, like “Days of Creation” and “Noah’s Ark”.
